Titled "Media in a Challenging World: A 360 Degree Perspective," the 2012 IPI World Congress will be IPI’s first ever in the Caribbean. The three-day event will examine the many challenges, concerns and opportunities facing the media worldwide, with special focus on media issues impacting the Caribbean and Latin America.
As always, the IPI World Congress will feature a stellar line-up of speakers and panellists from print, broadcast and online media, as well as renowned figures from the worlds of politics, business, academia and civil society, who will actively engage participants in discussions on a wide range of topics.
In addition, the Congress will feature a special one-day seminar for reporters covering corruption, a press freedom photo exhibition and a special awards evening honouring IPI’s 2012 Free Media Pioneer and its 63rd World Press Freedom Hero, Reuters columnist and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner David Rohde.
Finally, an exciting programme of social events, sightseeing tours and post-Congress tours will provide further opportunities for informal networking and a chance to enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the people of Trinidad & Tobago and the wider Caribbean region.
